Yes Honor/Sanity, found! Thank you very much to have added it

    Updated my gist: https://gist.github.com/Ry7n/6f5f88e...606353a3c43361

To include the five backgrounds from the D&D Season 4 backgrounds (Black Fist Informant, Dragon Casulaty, etc.) from here (linked PDF may be broken, get it here.

I also updated the Haunted One to fix some encoding and grammar errors.
@morepurplemorebetter Do you have a GitHub repo for this? If so, I would send you pull requests.

Oh, and additionally, if backgrounds had the ability to set lifestyle automatically based on the AL guide, that would be really cool.

  • #954
And I also ran into a bunch issues trying to generate a spell sheet with Magic Initiate [Druid] selected.

    * Spell sheets wouldn't generate
    * Include/Exclude UI broke if I selected:

    1. Exclude Magic Initiate
    2. Include Magic Initiate
    3. Change Order of lists to generate

That is great! I will take a look when I have time (somewhere this weekend probably). I can however already make some general remarks that I probably should have done in the HomeBrew syntax file on my Dropbox (and now have, but that was too late for you):
    - equipleft no longer need "- " in front of the gear names
    - the first line of the "extra" attribute is for the tooltip, you did this for some, but not all
    - not everything that you put in the "extra" attribute will actually fit into the field. All items should be checked if they fit and amended accordingly
    - this space issue is also relevant for the Background Feature
    - the Background Feature has to be written in the first person
    - the entry in the "feature" attribute has to be capitalized as it is put onto the sheet 'as is' (although you only forgot to do this for the Phlan Insurgent)

I don't have a GitHub for this, but maybe that is a good idea. I am a little bit wary of WotC C&D however...

That would be cool... although, what is "AL guide"? and what does it say about lifestyle's of backgrounds? I didn't find how lifestyle relates to backgrounds in the PHB and I don't play Adventurers League.

Good catches. It took a little bit of experimenting to find what you meant with "Include/Exclude UI broke", but in the end it was just a undefined variable that was easily fixed.

The Magic Initiate also had an error in it that crept in their with the addition of the "prepared spells" dialog. Good that you caught it! It will be fixed in the next version

I can see why that would concern you. Perhaps a way to do that would be to re-organize your Dropbox stuff based on publication. Most of it is OGL, and much of what's not is distributed for free anyway. That will make it less terrifying and easier to resolve if you accidentally include something that's not.

If I have another sleepless night I might start on that for you. As for the ALPG, it's here. While that resource changes every six months, the data we're interested in doesn't. I've attached a screenshot. It's a minor thing, but it's flavorful and likely easy to implement.

Thank you, that helps a lot I think adding that to the backgrounds is a nice addition, so I did it for the new version

MPMB's Character Record Sheet v11.31 (18-5-2016) with the following changelog:
    • The background now also sets the lifestyle expenses (as suggested by RCanine)
    • Fixed an issue with Spell Sheet generation when getting spells from a feat (Magic Initiate and Ritual Caster)
      (thanks RCanine for noticing)
    • Fixed an issue with the Spell Sheet include/exclude dialog (thanks RCanine for noticing)
    • Fixed mistakes in the Haunted One background and the Purple Dragon Knight archetype

I'm trying to create a Warlock.
And I found some issues that I would like to know if there is something you can do to ease my life.

I choose as one of my Eldritch Invocations the Book of Ancient Secrets (PHB 110)
What it does is that allows the Warlock to add two 1st level spell that have the ritual tag to his book and write new ones that may find in his adventures.
My problem is that there is no easy option to add those spells to the sheet. I would like to add this invocation to the extra spells area in the spell book menu and those slots in their drop down menus to show only spells with the ritual tag.

Also there is no option in the spell sheet to identify which spell is from the Warlock, which is from the book and which is a Ritual. That is important in case the WL loses his Book or any other similar situation. I would love to see an extra column in there, maybe a small one with only the first letters (B for Book, R for Ritual)

Further more Warlock always cast smaller level spells as higher, as such it would be great to have the full effect of each spell in the spell sheet description. Example the Eldritch Blast. In first level the description should say that Warlock cast only one beam and when he get to level 5 that description should change and say that he may fire 2.

Lastly in the third page in the "choose visible sections" menu there is a compilation that I think is missing. The Rules Left - notes right.

    Hi Fitsou,

What do you think is wrong with having a separate "class" section for the ritual spells? Is there a particular reason you want to add them to the Warlock section? In the "Extra Spells" section won't ever be enough room for all those possible ritual spells, so I opted for the option to just have another pop-up dialog for the "Book of Ancient Secrets", because otherwise they would become indistinguishable from the Warlock spells in the spell sheet. Having the ritual spells in a separate section, with its own header is enough of a distinction in my book, but I'm interested to hear where your confusion comes from. Also, all ritual spells have an (R) behind their name, is that not enough of a distinction to see which ones are ritual spells? What do you suggest that doesn't use any extra space?

Come to think of it, I am guessing you are not using the full potential of the sheet. Did you make your warlock in a fresh sheet or did you import him? If you make sure that you select the Invocation "Book of Ancient Secrets" via the "Choose Option" button on the second page than you will have all what I am talking about above: a separate spell selection dialog just for the ritual spells in the book. If you didn't set it via the button on the second page, than you are out of luck and won't get any pop-up. You need to do this selection even if you import, as it says on the import information dialog.

I think I have all permutations of the three things that can be set on page three: "Rules + Notes", "Rules + Equipment", and "Notes + Equipment", if we disregard the location. Adding all the permutations based on location is only useful from an aesthetic point of view, but I think the gains are negligible compared to the costs: If I would have to make all options possible, I would have to make a duplication of a lot of fields, increasing the size of the sheet, slowing down the sheet, and requiring me to spend a lot of time on something essentially useless.

Hmm to tell you the truth this is the first time that I play a warlock so I haven't used the sheet that way before. The pop up dialog for the book didn't came up that's why I asked you for this update. I'm not sure this is a problem coming from you cause I tried it from the pc at work and it's possible to bugged somehow. I will try it at home and I will tell you if it is a bug or not.
